      <image:caption>Here is a quick guide of what to look for: Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)- a pattern of excessive worrying about different issues, feeling anxious or worried for most of the time.  This is usually for at least six months. Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) –where someone feels considerable anxiety in social situations or when performing in front of others, such as in public speaking. Phobias –an overwhelming fear of a specific object, place, situation or feeling. Panic Disorders –sudden panic attacks, intense episodes of heart-banging fear, breathlessness, and dread are experienced. This happens regularly and often for no obvious reason. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) – anxiety problems after experiencing a very stressful or frightening event. It can include flashbacks and nightmares Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) –recurring unpleasant thoughts (obsessions) and performing certain routines repetitively to relieve anxiety (compulsions)</image:caption>

      <image:title>How I Can Help- counselling - How Counselling can help.</image:title>
      <image:caption>Counselling is a talking therapy, where you can talk about your feelings and problems in a dependable and confidential space. When facing difficulties in life that are hard to deal with alone, working with a counsellor can help you to overcome these challenges. Depression, anxiety and stress can overwhelms us for example, making life difficult or painful. We can often feel unfulfilled, a sense of hopelessness or stuck.  Nobody knows you better than you know yourself, even if you can’t connect to that currently.  Feelings can be overwhelming to navigate alone, but working with a counsellor can help you regain and connect to who you are and what you want in life. Finding ways to make sense of and cope with the challenges you have faced or are facing can help you to get the best out of your life moving forwards. Are you: Experiencing feelings such as anxiety, depression, overwhelm, anger, shame, guilt, sadness, loneliness? Do you feel a sense of hopelessness? Struggling with low self-esteem? Struggling with negative thought? Feeling stuck or trapped? Withdrawing from things you usually enjoy? Using unhealthy coping mechanisms? Feeling you have lost control? Feeling relationships are strained? Simply needing to talk to someone? If so, counselling can help. I’m a professionally qualified MBACP counsellor working one to one in the private sector, with vast experience in the charity sector. I also host Wellbeing workshops and am an experienced Lecturer of Counselling, currently with the University of Derby. My clients say I'm an excellent listener, caring, understanding &amp; non-judgmental. My friends say I have a good sense of humour, which I feel can be a great tool in counselling work where approproaite. I believe that being a counsellor is truly privileged work which I am grateful to do. Just as a seed needs the right conditions to grow and thrive, so do we. I offer a warm, safe space to work with you through your distress and pain. I’m here to support you in giving voice to, as well as explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences that are causing you distress or affecting you negatively. Being an integrative counsellor, trained in different therapeutic approaches, I work intuitively to tailor sessions to your unique needs and life. This means working with you to find a way to understand your thoughts, feelings, actions or experiences and a way through your problems towards your goals and a happier &amp; healthier you. I am trained in Person-centred therapy, CBT, Transactional Analysis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My role is to give you time to help you feel empowered to gain acceptance with problems and to create positive, long lasting change.       <image:caption>Counselling is a talking therapy, where you can talk about your feelings and problems in a dependable and confidential space. When facing difficulties in life that are hard to deal with alone, working with a counsellor can help you to overcome these challenges. Depression, anxiety and stress can overwhelms us for example, making life difficult or painful. We can often feel unfulfilled, a sense of hopelessness or stuck.
